Internships for High School Students

Are you interested in working at a radio station? If you are a  motivated high school junior or senior interested in electronic media and want to learn in a hands-on environment come work at WCWP. You must have your own transportation and once accepted in to the program you will be assigned to a department at the station that interests you. Departments include Music, News, Sports, Engineering and Programming.


You will assigned to a mentor and receive general equipment training. Once trained, you fill staffing needs in our various departments which may include some on-air duties. You can learn about the music business in our programming department or work with our sportscasters on live games or sports talk shows. If you are interested in Journalism, our news department will give you an opportunity to read and anchor newscasts.


Work with student and professional staff to broadcast to our local FM coverage area and on two internet streamed stations we operate: mywcwp and WCWP Sports.


You must apply and  be interviewed and we require a written permission release from your parents and school to participate. We will work with your school guidance department to assure you are credited with any local school credits you may be eligible to earn.
